Significant population of abnormal promyelocytes with heavy granulation and folded, twisted nuclei.^[1]

Cytogram reveals the strong peroxidase activity in abnormal promyelocytes. The extremely high peroxidase content of these cells decreases the light scatter to such a degree that it makes them appear smaller.^[1]
