[MOL] An edge with squalamine

Good Day All,

found the following to be in the pipeline.

An edge with squalamine
Magainin Pharmaceuticals of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., said that 11 of 36
patients (31%) with Stage IIIb and IV non-small-cell lung cancer in
a phase-2a trial responded with partial responses to squalamine given
in combination with carboplatin and paclitaxel. This compares with a
15% historical response rate to chemotherapy alone, according to
the company. Squalamine is an anti-angiogenic aminosterol, a class of
small molecules discovered in the dogfish shark, that is also being
investigated for ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, pediatric solid
tumors, brain tumors, and fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.

God Bless YOu All,
