Some people I know with cancer will get Epotin (Procrit) shots once a week
as this helps the body make more red blood cells and lessens the number
transfusions and tends to keep the hemoglobin count up some.

I took Procrit once a week while on chemo and it very definitely worked
with no side effects. I could not have managed without it. Before that had
two transfusions until they started me on procrit.
