Re: [MOL] Prostate Cancer/REPLY

Hi Dick! Welcome to our forum. We are a general cancer forum, meaning we
represents the majority of cancers.

My husband just had prostrate treatment. Not surgery. He was not willing to
put up with the side effects of surgery and I am sure you know what they
are.

My husband had the seed implants and then Sterotatic Radiation. This
procedure is performed at all cancer hospitals. His surgeon here was most
upset about his decision; but it ended up being a very good decision.

First off, there were no side effects other than contraption and a little
pill took care of that for him. He is 63 year's old (just so you don't
think your being compared with some age 21 college football jock!). He
would have been able to go right to work if it weren't for the fact that he
was far away from home.

It is my understanding that this procedure works well for 20 year's and we
figured 20 year's was an excelent extension of life.

Your Gleason score is sitting right on the edge for the cancer to spread;
which I am sure your doctor told you. Warmly, your friend, lillian
