Re: [MOL] pain

Hi Renee:

I broke two ribs from coughing with pneumonia years ago. They are called
stress fractures. One fracture was worse then the other. They didn't do
anything about it, but it hurt to cough, sneeze or laugh for 6 weeks. What
they told me was, the muscle gets stretched & tired from coughing that it
doesn't support the rib cage as well as it should, and that's when they
fracture. Yours may not be a fracture, but you should mention it to your
Dr. They can generally get an idea just by touching the area and your
sensitivity to pain along the bone line.
Sincerely,
