I would imagine if it was really dangerous for him to take a break, the docs 
would strongly discourage it.  My Dad wanted to do that last time and the doc 
said "No way".  Later he was offered a break but felt he was close enough to 
the end of the chemo cycle that he would rather push it and finish up.  He 
was in remission from March to just now, so it did work - for awhile anyway.
