Re: [MOL] Pain medication

This is where I get totally involved after having two lobes removed in my
rt. lung due to a huge tumor. No follow up tx. "got it all" kind of
jargon.
The pain increased to the point that a few months post surgery I was ready
for the psych ward and a pistol pointed at my temple. Living alone, I
screamed and cried and begged but finally came to senses, garnered all
pertinent records and made an appt with an onc.....about forty minutes away
in another state. After a cursive exam and looking at the xrays, he put me
on
two types of morphine and that was a year ago.....due to severe neuropathy
pain. I couldn't function without it. It is a combination of time release
and
breakthrough for when the pain gets out of control. You don't get high
or dizzy or any strange sideeffects after the first couple days.....I began
driving with no difficulty within a week. The only way I realize I am
taking it is when
the pain gets nasty and I have forgotten a dose an hour or so previously.
Anyway, find another doc. I used the family doc who evidently has to
answer to some type of board or panel as to why he prescribes the narcotics.
I wish you best of luck. Mine is termed severe post surgery neuropathy pain
caused by cutting off nerve receptors who backfire and end up in a total
disaray making pain unbearable.
I trust this helps. Love, light, stamina, blessings, and huggels....Judy
