Dear Joan: My oncologist gave me Morphine all through my chemotherapy and
radiation -- whenever I was in any kind of pain! Once the pain was gone, so
was the Morphine. I didn't have any trouble giving it up at all. In fact, I
was anxious to get rid of it after while, because it caused my muscles to
jump. It did help the pain enormously, though, and that's what it's for! By
all means, your friend should insist on Morphine! There's no reason to
suffer if you don't have to.
