Dear Suzanne --
Thank you so very much for your message.  Tell you Dad we are going to lick this cancer thing!!!!!!!   I too was on the 5FU and Leukovorin treatment plan when I was first diagnosed and after I had the surgery.   The radiation is very interesting to me as they did not do it and I had a recurrence this past February.   I think the radiation makes a lot of sense to me and I have a strong feeling it is going to make a big difference in your Dad's case.
Keep me posted on his progress and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  Incidently, I don't think I could have kept so encouraged if not for MY daughter.  Daughters are one special breed!!!!!

Judith - My dad has Stage 3 colon cancer and the treatment that was offered was 5FU and Leukovoren which i understand is the typical treatment.  he just started and he is on the Mayo cyle - one week on and 3 weeks off for 6 months.  He started this week.  When we went to UCLA for a second oppinion, they reccomended also radiation at the resection place.  We were also told abou the CPT 11 which is an experimental drug.  My dad's doctor thought that this was still experimental and not good to use.  the UCLA doctor siad they would use it.   So check it out.
Keep me posted on what you hear.

Good morning all... I am a new subscriber and would like to join the discussion group and am not sure just how to do that (I am a novice computer user). I am a metastatic colon cancer patient and am now facing choosing treatment options..  would like to know what others have experienced. Thanks much Judith T.
