Dear Sandy and Glynda: Well ladies you really put me to the test. Had not
heard of clear cell carcinoma and there is not much that is clear cut and
dry on the net that I could find. However; after searching and searching I
have come up with some sites of interest and would be curious to know if I
am even on the right track.
Apparently clear cell carcinoma is a variant of Eccrine carcinoma. I would
see several words often, one being hypernephroma, which is skin cancer. In
my opinion the lung cancer is really what one would call hypernephroma mets
to lung and lymph nodes. The lymph nodes can carry cancer cells anywhere in
the body. This is just my educated guess, please understand we are not in
the medical field; but hopefully I have put you on the right path. It is a
rare cancer.
I would also suggest to you that you make sure your mother is being treated
at a major cancer facility where all treatments are available and that she
has a doctor that is familiar with this type of cancer. I would further
suggest that you get a second opinion as to the type cancer and the
treatment. At this point I would ask for a copy of the pathology report,
this will give you much information and make sure you keep copies of all
your mothers medical records. Often mistakes are made and you must be your
mother's guardian watching over and looking for the right and the wrong
things.
I further hope that you will left me know if I was on the right track for
you and please know I will be keeping all of you in my prayers. Warmly,
your friend, lillian
