Hi (didn't get your name).  Just wanted to say that I don't think there is 
*anything* selfish in your desire to have a loved one with you longer.  My 
father is 77 and in cancer treatment; I am 48 and still not ready to give up 
"daddy".  My stepmother lost her mother @ 101 years of age - and she wasn't 
ready to let her go either!  I wish you the best in the coming battles you 
face, but you CAN win!  My Dad has been in treatment for 2 yrs for "advanced" 
lung cancer and is doing very well!  -chris
