Re: [MOL] Tommy's donor backed out/Charlotte/Kathy/Chris/all

Kathy,
You all certainly have my sincerest prayers. Could you tell what is
involved in being a bone marrow donor ? I carry a card to donate my organs
and thought about marrrow donation when our first grandbaby was critically
ill with rare disease. Her white blood count stayed up so high they did bone
marrow biopsy but thanks to Our Lord's Mercy and Love it was negative and
they are confident there is no underlying cancer. Anyway, now Tommy's case
makes me think about it again. Who pays the donor's expense and do you have
to go to certain hospitals, etc? What is involved in the testing to be
registered and are there medical conditions that would eliminate a person
even though they are "healthy"?
