    [06/29/2000; PR Newswire]

ATLANTA, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Cancer Society,
the nation's leading voluntary health organization and the
leading source of web-based cancer information, and Pfizer Inc.,
a research-based, global pharmaceutical company, are collaborating
with the online development of the American Cancer Society Community
Resources Database (CRD) through the Society's website:

The CRD database is scheduled to debut online in late Summer 2000.

The CRD is an American Cancer Society virtual resource that provides
the latest state-of-the-art information to cancer patients
and those affected by cancer about ongoing, community-based cancer
programs and services. The database contains more than 51 thousand
entries, ranging from the availability of local transportation,
exercise and nutritional resources to counseling options and
available survivor networks. More than 34 hundred local American
Cancer Society offices nationwide have worked to collect information
within the Society and distribute it in hard copy form to cancer
patients in communities from coast
to coast.
