Lillian.............
I like your other answer too!!!!!!!!!!!!!, But yes, I was asking your opinion
on where to go
for help. You gave me the answer that I gave myself. I went to Sloan
Kettering for my
second opinion and was evaluated by a staff headed up by Dr. Mark Kris (a
very highly regarded Oncologist/Professor at Cornell Medical Center). My own
set of
doctors are at University Hospital at Stony Brook, NY, (a teaching hospital)
including two who spent a number of years at Sloan. So I'm very comfortable
about their abilities and knowledge.
Today...............I finally made my decision, and agreed to chemotherapy.
You are right, I wrestled with this decision for so long that I'm now a WWF
fanatic!!!!!!!!(a joke).
I have every argument down pat, both pro and con for
chemo........................I can debate anyone either way. As I was walking
today, a thought occurred to me that made my decision for
me........................Here goes.........
With my kind of cancer, there's really a 50/50 chance of it coming back if
any cells
are floating around. If it did come back....would I then go for chemo? The
answer is of course I would, with no hesitation. Then why wouldn't I take a
shot at chemo now, to try to avoid having it come back. The odds would change
from 50/50 to 55/45 in my favor. I'd live in Las Vegas if they gave me those
odds.
I hope I explained myself clearly on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fondly
Dave B
