Hello, Enver: I am a survivor of sclc -- I was diagnosed in December of
1997, and I was given the same kind of chemo your father is receiving --
Etoposide (or VP-16), Cisplatin, Carboplatin, Taxol, and Taxotere -- varying
combinations. The chemo was rough, but it worked. I went through five weeks
of radiation after the chemo was completed. In March of 1998, I was declared
cancer free, and remain that way to this day, except for a slight setback
last month when I was diagnosed with a precancerous breast condition and
underwent a mastectomy. If you have any questions about the chemo, please
ask. It's still pretty fresh in my mind.
Regards -- kathy in Boise
