Re: [MOL] meds

Hi Rita,
I agree that quality of life must be considered, and with your Mom being
sick already, I understand that you don't want to complicate things
further. You may look into radiation as an option, the effects (at least
for my mother) were very mild. Maybe a little fatigue, but that was all.
Some types of chemo are less toxic to the body and cause little to no
side effects. One type of chemo my mother tried was called Temadar and
she had absolutely no side effects at all. She has tried another since
then that did make her sick but only for 2 days. Ask her doctor what
other treatments are available. On the other hand, if she is sick
already and the doctor advises a type of chemo that will be effective
but will make her sick, it may not make things much worse than it is
already. The effects are temporary and if it will benefit her it may be
worth it. I know I was afraid to get into the chemo thing with my mom. I
had envisioned it to be much worse. I have heard so much since then of
other people who did the chemo and got through it and are now cancer
free. Talk to your doctor, but the decision should ultimately come from
your mother and you. You both know what she can tolerate better than
anyone. Best wishes, Lisa
