Re: [MOL] Susan

Title: Susan
Dusti!  Hey kiddo, I second this email.  I was at the ABC site and found "Survivors", that weird T.V. show.  Well, it was so interesting, it had a bit of history on each of the people who volunteered for the show.  Two, both women are cancer survivors.  One a college student the other in her early 50's. The one in her early 50's, can you beat that, she can survive cancer and they kicked her off the team.  Go figure.  The college student had colon cancer.  I kept looking at them and thinking the same thing, both looked so normal. Now this is not a new lesson to me, I have been around cancer since I was young.  I volunteered for a cancer hospital when I lived in California, many of my families friends died of cancer, my grandmother died of cancer along with a Uncle and I have had it twice.  Beats me; but the point is we share in the same thought.  Love you, lillian

Susan,

It is a blessing to be able to read and write in to people going through some of the same things, worrying about the same worries, taking the same sort of tests, going through alot of the same situations.  It is difficult to talk about cancer to even your best friends because they tend to want to fix everything for you or they feel so bad they don't know really what to say.  I know there was a point for me when all I wanted to do was talk about cancer and this was the only place I could do it for a while.  It is a safe place.  When I first looked in the molers album and put pictures with names, I was so amazed!  I don't know what or whom I expected but I saw people that could be my neighbors or co-workers, normal people!  Doesn't that sound awful?  I don't mean it that way.  What I was saying is that this is a blessing and I really don't feel like there is anything accidental about us meeting here.  I found this forum when I needed it the most & I found it by complete accident.  It's nice for something good to come out of something so awful.

Regards,
Dusti
