Hi, Lisa,
I always have mixed feelings about the mammogram joke -- on the one
hand, humor is one of the cancerer's greatest survival tools, but
I'm always afraid that women reading it may be unnecessarily scared
off from getting the mammogram they need! Like so many tests, we
wish we could avoid them completely, but they sure beat the
alternative! :-)
Anyhow, about your question... They don't do mammograms on the
mastectomy breast -- supposedly, there is no tissue left to scan!
If, like me, one has had reconstruction in both breasts (to help
make them match), they will still do the mammogram with the implant,
just much more carefully! And it sometimes requires an extra shot or
