wow, it sounds like lots of you guys are originally from california. Yes,
the weather is great here and the beach is a wonderful place to unwind.
I'm noit sure this is the bst place in the world to raise children though...I
have been wondering about moving away from here. Us southern cals especially
are so expected to look like Pamela Anderson, I know I have fallen into
the trap and I hate looking around at all the young ladies 11-12 years
old with anorexia and dressed like grown women . I want to tell them that
there is more to life and they are beautiful for who they are. It is a
disease just lke any other. I'm sure it goes on everywhere to some degree,
but this is the worst place-I see my two beautiful daughters and my son
and would like to raise them to value hard work and integrity and family,
not beauty. I guess I just hate what I know I have been a slave to my whole
life (since teenhood) and want more for my children. Knowing a lot of the
teenagers here in my neighborhood and what they are going through sooo
young (it's much harder now) with gangs in the schools, peer pressure,
so many of them becoming sexual as pre-teens even. It seems to be the
norm. I would like to move somewhere where I could protect them better
but I think it may just be up to my husband and I to prepare them and be
thre for them. Wow, did I just go off on a tangent? Sorry, you can see
how sore I am with society these days! Don't get me started! Lisa
