Hi Sorry to hear about your husbands sister. I to have leukemia Aml m5. I
was diagnosed onMarch 19,1999 and received a stem cell transplant on June
17,1999 and so far everthing is going great! Leukemia is not hereditary
it is caused from environmental factors. They could have both been
exposed to the same things but it is very unlikely that he got it from
his family.That is why they use siblings to take part in the stem cell
