Lillian,
The SIUH is just for the stem cell withdrawal and freeze. We will be there
until approx 19th depending on how long it takes to get the ?million cells they
need, and then we go home. We come back for the Clinical Trial to Garden State
Cancer Center on the 24th and will be between there and SIUH for another 3
weeks, into May. This is to inject monoclonal antibodies with attached CEA-Cide
to target the tumors and hours and hours of scans to watch this happen. The 2nd
week if everything goes ok and tumors are targeted he will get a BIG does of the
same to try to eradicate tumor, the next day back to SIUH for one dose of
doxirubicin and constant scans again until everything has left his blood. Then
they will reintroduce the frozen stem cells (or transplant as they say. Thats
it. Sounds almost too easy. We have not made reservations yet, can't decide
whether to stay in Belleville or find a motel in NY. Running out of time, but
loath to make the final decision. I'm never this indecisive this is crazy -
just like me right now.
