To all: My dad went in for a Colonoscopy last week, and they found a
large mass.
his CEA count is 33.5, and they found five spots on his liver. He's
scheduled for a colonic resection on april 3rd, and will start chemo 3
to 4 weeks after that. The doctor will start with 5-FU/Leukovorin AND
Camptosar, which I'm told is the newest regimen . He's 73, and although
he had bypass in '95, was in good health. He got
a staph infection in the hospital after bypass, and takes 2000mg of
antibiotics every day.
I would appreciate feedback and info from anyone else on the list who is
fighting, or has a loved one fighting stage 4 colorectal cancer. The
news hit us like a truck, and I'm not sure how long he will be around.
Even though it's been only a week, I've been up and down the emotional
rollercoaster already, and I'm sure that will continue.
Please help if you can.
