Dear Kathleen...Ah the memories you have brought back of my feeble attempts
at being a folk strummer in the 70's. I love to sing...used to be in the
glee club at college and was on sever tours...these days it is confined to
the shower and St. Patrick's Day. Many a college evening was spent in the
local pub harmonizing. To this day, I sing the Yale Drinking Song and an
Irish lullaby to put my kids to sleep. My very best Congratulations on your
Dad's 80th...imagine 80 years young! God Bless.
John

Dear Marty: Flamenco? I love it! I also like jazz guitar, and recommend a
duo called Acoustic Alchemy for some really great listening. I used to play
the guitar, too, but not particularly well. I pretty much just strummed it
while I pretended I was Joan Baez or Judy Collins or someone like that. Had
a blast last night. Our local pub, which we call the Health Club, has
karaoke on Thursday nights, and bunch of us are regulars. Some of the
singers are fantastic -- from the music department at the university here,
and some from the opera company. We have a great time. Not much imbibing
--
but a lot of music. Every once in awhile, however, we must cope with
someone
with a tin ear.
It's my father's 80th birthday tomorrow, and we're all going out to dinner
--
my brothers, my male friend, my parents and me. It's going to be in the
high
sixties here tomorrow! Spring is coming early this year. I love it.
How's that for rambling on and on? I'm trying to put off mopping the
kitchen
floor as long as I can -- and I really do have work to do. Heavy sigh.
Have a great day, Marty, and give Barb a big hug!! Love, Kathy
