My 48 year old sister has just been diagnosed
(December 23, 1999) with Signet Cell Linitis Plastica Stomach
Cancer. The stomach surgeon and cancer specialist said the tumor was
in her stomach and about the size of a cantaloupe. It has invaded her
liver, colon and pancreas. It is inoperable. She has an intestinal
blockage right where the food leaves her stomach. Everything she eats or
drinks comes right back up. They have put a feeding back on her below the
intestinal blockage. Supposedly she can never eat or drink anything
again. We have not been given any good news. So far the doctors have
said she has less than a year to live, possibly months. We are suppose to
talk to oncologists next week to see what if anything chemo or radiation will
do. Can you provide any information and tell me where I can go on-line to
find any information I can. My sister says she does not feel sick at all.
It is hard to believe the diagnosis when she feels like nothing is wrong with
her. Thanks for your help. My e-mail address is beth@clis.com.
