HIGH IN CANCER PATIENTS
Cancer patients have a higher frequency than the general population of a
polymorphism in the type I transforming growth factor-beta receptor
(T-beta-R-I) gene that deletes three alanines from a nine-alanine stretch
in the protein, researchers report in the November 15th issue of Cancer
Research.
