PEAPACK, N.J. (Reuters) - Pharmacia & Upjohn said Friday 
it was cleared by U.S. regulators to market Aromasin, 
a new treatment for advanced breast cancer in 
postmenopausal women. Aromasin, Pharmacia's second breast
cancer drug to win approval this year from the Food and Drug
Administration, works by inhibiting the enzyme aromatase. It
was tested among patients with advanced breast cancer whose tumors
stop responding to the conventional treatment tamoxifen. Aromasin
was generally well-tolerated in clinical trials. The most common
drug-related adverse events were hot flashes, nausea, fatigue,
increased sweating and increased appetite, Pharmacia said.
