Hello, Friends: Liz Patterson arrived in Boise at about 4:30 yesterday.
She was privileged to see our antique office building and my extremely messy
office! We went to dinner at a popular pub downtown, and I think she really
enjoyed the ambiance and the food. I certainly enjoyed her company!. Then
I gave her a cursory tour of our "little" city, which has exploded since she
was last here -- about five years ago. Boise is growing by leaps and bounds
and is hardly recognizable from ten years ago. We went to my house after
dinner and she was given the pleasure of meeting my mangy menagerie --
Norman, Guido, Button Michelle, Leonard, Maggie, Puck, and Holmes. She also
met my god-like brother, Reilly. The house was fortunately quite neat and
tidy when we arrived, except that Button Michelle had left a little token of
her esteem in front of the fireplace. I immediately picked it up with a
Kleenex and told her (Button) in a sickeningly sweet, little voice that she
was a naughty, naughty girl. I'll never get her housebroken if I keep
talking baby talk to her, but she's so cute! Sigh. Liz and I had a great
visit. She's a very fun person -- smart, interesting, down to earth, and
nice. I look forward to seeing her again. Just thought I'd let everyone
know. I talked to her, Lil, about writing about her cancering experience,
as you suggested. She's reluctant to do so, because she feels that hers
wasn't as serious as some. I told her I think it's ALL serious and that her
contribution would definitely be important. I think I changed her mind.
Hope so. Anyway, it was fun. Now I want the rest of you to come see me.
Hopefully, Button and I will have ironed out our little problem by then!
Love, Kathy
