Carole has completed her radiotherapy treatment today but is still poorly,
her memory is still not too good and is still very tired, she is being
transferred to a hospice (I hate the word hospice) next week, you can imagine
how devastated I was to hear that as it seems so final but the hospital she
is in now cannot give her the attention she will need as they don't have the
staff and the community nurse suggested that it was almost impossible for her
husband to care for her alone. Hopefully they will give her some quality of
life to allow her to come home, they have trained nurses and therapists, I am
shedding buckets full of tears at the moment as she so wanted to come
straight home and still thinks she is, we are trying to explain that she is
only there for a few weeks, apparently her radiotherapy dosen't work until
all her hair falls out and then it will be 3 weeks before they know how
successful it has been. It's as though I've lost part of her already and she
is such a darling, but she won't give up the fight I'm sure.
