Re: [MOL] Pains caused by liver mets.

Bill, I had the same pain and it ended up being my adrenal gland, no cancer however.  Give folks time to respond to your query and a hearty welcome.  Your friend, lillian

Subject: [MOL] Pains caused by liver mets.

ANY MOLERS out there with colon cancer secondary tumours (Metastases) in their liver ?

I have a few clusters of tumours in my liver, and for the second time I have completed a course of chemo to shrink them.

I have been told by my doctor that I should not get much pain around  my liver ,as the liver has no nerves. However I do get pains around my lower right side and back, which is the liver area.

My doc also tells me that right shoulder pains could be due to the liver expanding as the tumours grow inside, and push on to the diaphragm. The diaphragm nerves are wired into the same nerves as the shoulder. I am experiencing these shoulder pains occasionally.
I am aware that these could be chemotherapy pains that I have had before, but chemo pains tend to move around the body, and not remain in one place

I would like to hear from anyone who has the same pains and is in the same situation

Thanking you in anticipation             BILL
