Re: [MOL] Bess!

Dear Bess:

This is a most difficult period, and we always refer to our journey as a
roller coaster ride. I certainly can well understand your frustrations
Bess. I am going to try to break down what you have written.

You Said: The Stony Brook trial is still open, a four hour ride and you
don't drive.[[[ How long is this trial? A friend of mine just left for a
trial , said she would be there 3 days for testing and if approved then she
would be there two weeks. Most places that have trials have a efficency
apartments at a reasonable rate. Is there train service to there?]]]

It is true that some herbs will conflict with chemo; however, I am inclined
to believe that what has been given to Tom is not one of them. It is
extreamly important to build up the immune system. I would question if the
nose bleeds could be from something behind the nose, thus causing the
bleeding? My Japenese friend said that this is more common with Japenese
than with other groups.

One of our molers went for a trial for thalidimide and it was working well
for a spell and stoped.

If Tom believe the chemo will work, keep that hope in him. Very important
Bess.

Chemo can cause a terrible fatigue and so can cancer. This is one of the
ways I know when I have cancer, by the fatigue.

I am not sure if I have been of help to you, there is a web site www.
webdoc.com, I have not had a chance to explore it; however the new's report
stated that there are doctors there you can ask questions of.....

Now friend, know that we are all with you here and hopefully some of the
other molers will give some suggestions that may help. Your friend, lillian
