Dearest Lil - I really have not been "THAT" quiet...in fact I posted quite a few
missives in the past 24 hours. Unfortunately my Mom and my whole family in
fact, (3 sisters and a brother, all married, and 14 nephews and nieces) all live
in Argentina...11,000 miles away. I miss them a lot and stay in close touch
with all of them. Mom and Dad spent last summer with me - they came to watch my
kids when I went to Mexico in April, and then stayed on because there was
consideration being given to my undergoing surgery last summer...then the cancer
quieted down...now a year later, it's growing very aggressively again, and I
will be having surgery tentatively May 27...I would have it earlier, but the
surgeon I trust with my life (and it's very major surgery)..his son is
graduating from law school in Calif next week, and would be gone during my
recovery time - about 10 days in the hospital...I want him around in case of
post-operative complications...anyway I'm looking at doing a couple of things
prior and post surgery...will let you know when my plans are finalized..still
have to talk to a couple of doctors, in Memphis and Germany..I went to Nassau
earlier this week, on Wed - a very long day from 6am to midnite - for another
stem cell transplant. I plan on returning to IAT after surgery as soon as I can
travel because after the operation my protein/blood markers will all be
changed. I'm slowly regaining hope, faith and de-stressing. This past week
both my sons were suspended from school, for not really big-deal transgressions,
but still they had to be dealt with. Then my oldest son's girlfriend broke up
with him - his first big love - they'd been together 2 years this past week and
he was just crushed..... I don't know if I posted to you about my nephew Mark
in Argentina who committed suicide under a month ago while I was in the, and he
did so as a result of being despondent because his girlfriend broke
off....brought back too many sad memories seeing my own son totally devastated.
Anyway, I have been stressed and anxious this week, but little by little I'm
getting on the positive track again, and getting myself ready to do battle
again....regaining faith and hope....love you dear. Keep in touch. Cori.
