"B" good
We all need B vitamins. Vitamin B is a complex of at least
eight separate water-soluble vitamins including thiamin,
riboflavin, niacin and folic acid. The Merck and Company Labs in
New Jersey announced the development of biotin, a member of the
Vitamin B complex, on May 14, 1943. B vitamins are necessary for
the normal functioning of the nervous system, and for the
maintenance of muscle tone in the gastrointestinal tract. B
helps provide energy by converting carbohydrates to glucose.
Vitamin B can be found in liver, egg yolk, soy flour, cereals,
yeast, eggs, nuts and green leafy vegetables. Biotin is also
produced by bacteria in the human intestine.
