Christine,
Had first boost yesterday. There was no artificial flab or anything over
my breast. They pulled the machine as close as it would get to my
breast, just about touching it, and then sent those electrons into me.
They said that it will get very red in the area that the electrons go in
and in the area they come out. I know where they go in, another tattoo,
but am not sure where they come out. Keep asking and they keep saying
you'll know.
Size is not the issue here, believe me, I am full of fluid and it hurts!
The surgeon does not want to take it out until my breast calms down and
she can touch it. The radiation bra is really a camisole that is very
soft, it has no support at all. Back to a sports bra.
Did your radiologist examine you while you were going through radiation,
actually look at your skin in the treatment area?
When I mentioned to the nurse that my last treatment was Wednesday and
that my husband would be coming with me to have our questions answered
she told that I had to make an appointment with the doctor, and that he
was not in on Wednesdays. I really feel that I am floating along and no
one is monitoring me or my care. Please let me know if you found your
experience to be different.
