Cori,
I am so sorry that you are going through this with very little
"support" from those around you. Having three teenage sons myself, I have
some advice, let them read the email that you posted here. All of my sons
have been in at least one fight this year in school, the grades have suffered
and they will do just about anything to get the attention they need. I
finally told them where my head was and asked them to simply tell me when
they really need my attention, even if it's just for a hug and a kiss. I
hide nothing from them concerning Patrick's cancer and future. They are
involved in the decision making conversations, but the decisions themselves
are Patrick's to make. It's hard for kids to find out that we are not super
Mom's, that we are fragile at times and scared. But once they realize we are
only human, they may act differently. If they need to talk to other teenage
boys, mine would be more than happy to do so 330-483-3717 or email them at
PozzyF150@aol.com , bmwbshr@aol.com , lilpozz@aol.com . Maybe what we need
is an online support group for our kids.
Praying for you, Love,
Nisi
