Steroids soften bones, chemo softens bones and I think so does Radiation.
Now about the pain in the back.  It is possible that the spine has
compressed and this is causing the pain, have you come out and asked the
doctor about this?  Is your sister on a pain patch, many have said it works
very well and this would be non invasive Gwen.  I believe pain  works so
against healing and that this is most important to get to the root of.  Then
move on to the next.  I can well understand that you are a bit green eyed
when you hear of one's doing so well, and here's your sister with you right
behind her....at the same time these success stories are real and lend hope;
which is extremely important.  We actually know people who have lived
