Frank:
Your daughters sound terrific. They must love you very, very much.
I do plan on being with Dad as much as I possibly can. Actually, I want to
get a room in the hospital (the center has accommodations) and stay there
for the week when I go to visit him. I just plan to stay with him all day,
hold his hand, and just be there. I tell him all the time how much I love
him.
I promise to be myself, speak my heart, and most of all, just be there for
him. I don't have any children, but two of my sisters do, for a total of
five grandchildren. I think cards are a great idea. Before Dad left for the
hospital he framed a bunch of family pictures and has them in his room. We
also plan to cozy up his bed with an afghan from home.
Frank, please keep in touch with me. I will continue to keep you
up-to-date. Your prayers are greatly appreciated, and just know you and
your family are in mine.
Love,
Linda

It,s really nice to have you with us Linda.A few weeks ago I was in the
hospitol for a little Surgery.and it was so comforting to me to know that
my
girls cared for me.I recieved a phone call from my daughter in Texas,my
other daughter was there with me.Just knowing of their presence and concern
was enough for me.
Coming from a long ways to visit him spoke volumes of how you feel. Its hard
for a lot of people to realize, but just being there, hardly saying a
word, holding his hand is such a wonderful expression of love.At the bedside
go with the moment. If he is sleepy, let him rest,But most of all tell him
how
you feel.It will work wonders for you and him
Speaking for a lot of cancer patients we just want to be treated like
everybody else. Its so difficult for me to have people chosing their
words, terrified that they may say the wrong word.Others make their visits
short because they are so nervous.Just be yourself.Speak your hearty, and
let
him know how huch you appericate him,and how much he means to you.If you
have kids, let them (if small)make cards for him.BUT JUST BE THERE FOR HIM.
Linda,I.ll keep in touch, let us know how things are going. You and your dad
are in our prayers and thoughts.Love Frank
