[MOL] Screening for Melanoma.....breakthrough

Good Morning My fRiends,

Am very encouraged about the following news.

Identification Of Melanoma Gene Opens Doors To Screening,
Treatment

WESTPORT, Mar 25 (Reuters Health) - Isolation of the p16 melanoma
susceptibility gene may soon lead to screening of family members
to identify those at high risk of developing melanoma. Gene
isolation may eventually lead to new therapeutic tools with which
to treat the disease. That was the focus of a presentation at
the 57th annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in
New Orleans. Dr. Michael Piepkorn of the University of
Washington in Seattle told Reuters Health that roughly 10% of
patients who develop melanoma have a heritable form of the
disease, with one or more of their first-degree relatives also
developing melanoma.

God Bless You All
