Last night northwest Ohio had some severe storms, with high
winds that blew down trees, and hail that my nephews made into snowballs,
branches down all over my yard, and also the neighbors plants blown from their
front porch all over the place. Then this morning the sun is shining, the birds
are singing, the flowers blooming, no wind just quiet calm beauty.
This also seems to describe the cancering journey for
the patients and also the caregivers. Things can't seem to be any more trying
and heartbreaking, and it may seem like you can't go on, can't take another
step, can't shed another tear, or even smile one more time. Then you realize God
has you sheltered from the storm. No matter what your personal storm may be at
this time, God can calm it, make the birds sing again, the sun shine again, the
flowers bloom again, and also give you quiet calm beauty.
