Chris: Your doctor uses only CAT scans on his brain? My doctor uses CAT scans for my periodic checkups, and sometimes just a chest x-ray, but I've had a couple of MRIs. I think if your father's doctor was checking for brain cancer, she would probably use an MRI. The reason they hesitate to use them often is that they are terribly expensive -- around $1,000 a shot! I hope this helps a little. Kathy
