Hi!  There is always hope friend, and hope is the fondation of recovery.
No Doctor should take this away from his/her patient.  I strongly suggest
that you call the NCI Immediately @ 1-800-4-Cancer and they will be able to
tell you what can be done, where the best place to go for this is; etc.  I
am so sorry this has happened to your mother and your family; but relieved
that you have the good sense to question and seek help for her.  She
undoubtedly needs another doctor and believe you me make sure you get all
her medical records; etc.  Infections don't come from the Chemo itself, they
come from unsterile surrounding, needles; etc.  David, you really need to
jump on this.  Good luck and let us know how you made out.  Your friend,
