Hi All of you,
My "thoughts for today" present a message that's a little tougher for
most of us. I for one, could use improvement in that area. Here they
are:
Accept correction, and you'll need less of it.
Never fear criticism when you're right; never ignore it
when you're wrong.
There are times when our self-esteem just can't handle the blow of
someone's criticism, even if it was ment for good. So, we bruise
easily,
and heal slowly. The stronger our self-confidence, the less those
comments will hurt us. Instead, we can sort them out and take what fits
and throw out the rest. Also, if you are the one who feels it is
necessary to criticise someone else, make sure you sandwich it inbetween
two layers of praise. That aways helps to buffer it a little. I'm
speaking from experience on both sides, the giver and the receiver, and
I certainly didn't handle it right all the time. But I'm working on all
of that, and trying to learn from past mistakes. Not always easy, but
absolutely necessary!
Well, that's it for today, folks.
God bless,
Jo
