PJ,
Glad you can see us again! Patrick sounds wonderful. His blood work looks as
good as mine, except the bilirubin. Two more weekends and he will be back
home with us!! We can hardly wait! His chemo is done, he still has 13 more
radiation treatments to go. He is flying home March 31, as long as everything
goes as planned. I was going to go to NY, but he said the goodbyes are way
too hard on us. I was almost relieved, don't want to go through that again.
My father-in-law is out of the hospital. He has end stage renal disease and
is on dialysis 3 times a week. Since his kidneys are not functioning, his
heart has to work extra hard and it's having problems doing that. He's so
tired....I don't think he has much fight left.
My dad is still in the hospital, out of ICU, but remains very weak. They
stopped the chemo and radiation treatments for now. His CT-Scan on friday
was clear. Now his biggest problem is his heart, it's not functioning at
100%, probably more like 40%. And his kidneys are having a few problems too.
He has been diabetic for years and I think part of this is related to that
more than the cancer. The info I get is minimal and not detailed. I hope he
can get well enough to come back home or at least be transferred to a hospital
up here in Ohio. My sister is going to fly down to FL in April if necessary,
then I'll get good information. Thanks for asking about all the influential
men in my life, it's been rough the last couple of weeks. The boys are fine
emotionally, asking a lot of questions. Sometimes getting answers they don't
want to hear. Jeremy has strep throat and possibly mono, I'm waiting for the
results of the blood test and Jacob has strep throat. Nathan and I are
healthy and doing fine. How's your Mom doing? Stay warm, the storm missed
us this time!! Love, Nisi
