Hi Everybody,
I'll get right to the point with my "thoughts for today."
We lose the joy of living in the present when we worry
about the future.
(taken from Our Daily Bread)
Never attempt to bear more than one kind of trouble at
once. Some people bear all three kinds---all they have
had, all they have now, and all they expect to have.
Edward Everett Hale
Just about every one of us has done it---worry needlessly. But why do
we do it? Has it ever helped a situation? I know it hasn't for me.
Now that's not to say that we shouldn't be concerned about certain
matters, but to "worry" is just futile. It takes up too much of our
thought life, thereby robbing us of time that we could have been
spending thinking of something more worthwhile or productive, or at
least something more positive. Studies have shown that people who worry
all the time get sicker more often, age quicker, have more mental
illnesses, and are much more likely to die earlier. Wow, not a very
good outlook for a worrier is it? Maybe we should practice thinking
about good things when worries come into our thoughts---and practice it
does take. However, the more you do it the easier it gets. See, once
again there is hope---always hope.
God Bless,
Jo
