Dear Chris,
God should help that you, your dad and your step-mom get through the next
few weeks with some help, healing and an increase in the comfort level of
your daily lives. Your father should get reassessed for Visiting Nurse.
Everything that happens to him which results in a decline in his ability to
function on his own, like his fall, is a reason to reassess his need for
services. Why the doctor should care is really a mystery to me. They are
only peripherally involved with what Visiting Nurse does, i.e., they write
orders once in a while. Someone can be homebound for a temporary period.
Get a social worker or patient advocate to help you if you need to, or
maybe hospital administration.
Love and Hugs,
Martha
