Christine, I have been following the news on TV, almost the first thing on
national news and wondered how it was effecting you. We had 97.5
centimeters in 3 days in 1996 and it was just awful. Victoria has only a
few snow plows. A local radio station served as the center for relief
efforts. You know, people shut in, need shovellers, medicine, etc. Our
crisis people were caught off guard as most of them were on Christmas
vacation! We live on top of a steep road and then another hill. We had to
shovel 4 entrances, plus a steep driveway, on one day it was 3 times. You
are liable if someone injures themselves on your property. The steep road
was not plowed until 2 weeks later. Got to use our snowshoes, though and
the first day, it was gorgeous! I got a real chuckle of the diary of a snow
shoveller or whatever it was called.
I have no idea when - they will fax ir e-mail. My colonscopy is likely to
be cancelled again. Other hospital staff are on a work to rule and
selective strikes. We were going to Seattle for a further consult as well
but they would prefer to have the results of the colonscopy and PET scan
before they see me. Good news though, the hours that the MRI machine here
in Victoria will be increased. The wait for elective examination was up to
13 months, the slowest in Canada and then only allowed for neck and brain.
Weird!
