Hi Lil: It's not so simple. We lived in Manhattan when he was last seen.
He had jumped ship from Liverpool, England in 1945. He never became a
citizen up until the time I was eight. He made up social security numbers.
I am trying to trace someone in his family to find out if he is dead or
alive. The Salvation Army tried, a salesman from the last company I worked
for went to England a lot and he tried thru their bureau of records, I tried
on line to get info on a few occasions and get no where. I know where he
was born, his parents names and one brother's name. I know his mother's
maiden name and maybe a few more details. What I need is a site that let's
you check the names I have in some department in Liverpool, England. Thanks
June
P.S. He was a Merchant Seaman up until 1945 for a couple of years. I tried
contacting our Merchant Seaman organization in Washington, DC or Albany
trying to get info about England's and got no where.
