Hi Christine: Nice to hear from a fellow Canadian. I no longer live in
Buffalo (now Houston, Texas) but I miss the summers and the good Italian
fool. I really wouldn't mind a little of the winter either. It's
usually to hot in Houston,. I long for the few cold snaps we do get.
On another subject..how one is told by the medical community that you
have Cancer. I agree that this is possibly some of the worst news one
will ever get, but there is a right way and a wrong way of braking that
new to a person. Both times I was told that I had breast cancer was over
the phone. The way the Doctor handled it was worlds apart. The first
time the doctor called me at work and just told me that the biopsy was
positive and I needed to to something about it soon if I didn't want to
die. I was in total shock this doctor needed some lessons in
compassion. This time I requested that the doctor call me at home as
soon as he got the results. He did not want to tell me over the phone,
but that was my choice. He told me the best he could, but I was still
in shock. There really is no good way to receive this kind of news. I
was glad I was home because I could fall apart without the worry of
trying to drive myself home. This way was better for me. I feel good
about my current doctor because he showed me that he cared about me and
was and is supportive.
Nice to Chat with you. Let me know how the weather is up that way.
God Bless
Suzanne
