Hi, Suzanne: I had to have the shots, too -- last winter. My husband gave them to me in the hip. I think he got some sort of perverted pleasure out of this, but he gives almost painless shots. I had leg and hip pain after the shots, too -- sometimes fairly severe. I took warm baths and Darvocet -- once in awhile a glass of wine, and I tried to sleep a lot. I think I just tried to get through it the best I could. I had six weeks of radiation, too. Ask your radiation therapist about the cream. He/she will either give it to you or tell you where to find it. Maybe I've helped a little? I'm such a buttinsky! Your friend, Kathy in Boise

Subject: Re: [MOL] Judy's Radiation - Question?
Hi Judy: My name is Suzanne and I have been in the forum for the past
month but have remained relatively silent. I too have brest cancer and
currently undergoing chemo (FAC protocol). The chemo does make me sick
for about 1 week and my blood count low at this time. I have been
receiving Neupogen Injections to help rebuild the blood cells. I am
having a lot of discomfort in my lower back, hip and leg. Nothing seems
to help for very long. I thought that you said in one of your e-mails
that you were taking the shots. Did you experience any pain and if so
what did you find that helped? Also, where did you find the Sween
Cream? I have 6 weeks of radiation after the chemo so I am trying to
find out all I can about that before I start my treatments.
I am glad that you are doing so well and you are really on the downside
of all the treatments. I will be glad when I reach that point. I can't
wait until my hair starts to grow back, I am getting tired of hats and
wigs! Take care amd God Bless.
The Mol chat room is great.
