Information About the Cancer Genetics Network
BETHESDA, MD, July 29 (NIH) - This summer, the National Cancer
Institute (NCI) plans to fund the Cancer Genetics Network. The
network will provide a new national resource to support
collaborative investigations into the genetic basis of cancer
susceptibility, integrate this new knowledge into medical
practice, and address the psychosocial, ethical, legal, and
public health issues associated with inherited susceptibility to
cancer. Up to $6 million in total costs for first-year funding
of this initiative will be provided.
