WESTPORT, Jun 24 (Reuters) - FDA officials yesterday approved
expanded indications for docetaxel (Taxotere) for
Injection Concentrate. The drug, manufactured by Rhone Poulenc Rorer,
can now be prescribed as first-line treatment for metastatic breast
cancer in patients refractory to adjuvant therapy. Docetaxel was
previously approved by the FDA for treatment of patients refractory to
anthracycline-based therapy.
